About The Crystal Judson Foundation

Crystal’s compelling story continues through the many people who support The Crystal Judson Foundation and its work, perpetuating the legacy to educate a society that is becoming increasingly subject to domestic abuse.

The Foundation exists to educate and inform the public about the moral degeneracy of domestic violence.

Further, the Foundation seeks to memorialize Crystal through the construction of a new ice arena and event center in Gig Harbor, WA, the community where Crystal lived with her children before her life ended.

In 2005, then retiring Gig Harbor Mayor, Gretchen Wilbert, civic leader and ice skating professional Laurie Winkle and attorney Parker Reich established The Crystal Judson Foundation.

The three founding members still sit on the Board of Directors, working with other entities and interested citizens to bring an ice arena to Gig Harbor as a memorial to Crystal Judson.

The foundation also sponsors events and promotes education for the purpose of exposing the perils of domestic abuse and violence, and to help prevent its stronghold on society.

Our logo is inspired by a beautiful crystal dome, the focal point in the lobby of a proposed ice arena in Gig Harbor. The inspiring dome was secured by an anonymous donor from the First United Methodist church in Tacoma, as the church building was in the process of domolition to make room for a hospital expansion.

Stored in Gig Harbor, the dome awaits installation during the proposed ice arena and event center's constuction phase. The center will serve as a memorial to Crystal Judson, opening debt-free — a gift to youth, families and others who enjoy indoor recreation and other activities.
